Meet the Founder

Nubian Roots by toya was born out of love for natural hair and the ability to create beautiful natural hairstyles.

Latoya Bruce founder and manager of Nubian Roots by toya desired to help women and girls understand and appreciate their natural hair. She then trained and worked at a all natural hair salon that offered Dreadlock and Natural hair styles, doing mostly braided styles and eventually elevating to loc maintenance.

In 2008, After working at the natural hair salon for 5 years, she branched off on her own and created the suite known today as Nubian Roots by toya.

Passionate about her craft and determined to expand her skills and services, she then set off to train, attending classes and workshops gaining more certification in other fields of the beauty industry.

At the suite, nail enhancements, lash extensions and pedicures are among the services offered alongside the beautiful hair care menu.
